When I worked for GE Aviation I coverd the entire Latin American region and made trips to England as well. The basic should sling laptop pack was a pain in the ass a lot of times so I went on the quest to find a good Laptop Backpack.

I looked at all kinds imaginable. By luck, I stumbled onto Spire's website. I knew the pack I had to have right when I saw it. It was their "Torq" model. Back when I bought it there were different colors available and I ended up with the black and charcoal, which is a nice mix.

It is a perfect mix of rugged and good looks. Good enough for a day hike and nice enough to take into a meeting.

I know how to abuse gear fairly well and this thing has passed the test without a doubt.

So if you are in the market, consider these guys. They are also made in Boulder CO. which is a plus!

This is the Torq model. They have a smaller pack and a larger pack as well:

It's about 80% likely that I'll be getting a titanium Powerbook here soon, and as a result would be in the market for a good backpack that has proper padding and protection for a laptop and associated extra stuff. Anyone have one the particularly think kicks ass? It would need to be able to fit the wider, yet thinner, dimensions of the TiBook.
